Zusammenfassung:Part of a special issue on challenging corporate control of schools and communities. A study was conducted to analyze the programmatic changes in the preparation of Bilingual California Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development teachers as a result of the implementation of credential reform legislation. Data were obtained from the survey and interview responses of faculty members from all over California. The findings, which raised some concerns about the extent to which the new programs in the state's public and private universities adequately prepare new bilingual teachers to meet the needs of English-language learners, are discussed.
