RT Article T1 Situating Situationism/Supporting Its Legacy: Reply to Mikkel Bolt Rasmussen JF Social justice VO 33 IS 2 SP 16 OP 28 A1 Hunter, Simeon LA English YR 2006 UL https://krimdok.uni-tuebingen.de/Record/174715749X AB Part of a special issue on art, power, and social change. A commentary on an article by Mikkel Bolt Rasmussen that appeared in this issue on pp. 5–15. In his article, Rasmussen examines a 1957 text by Guy Debord and discusses its implications for Situationism. The writer does not object to Rasmussen's exposition but suggests that his account is overly pessimistic. He suggests that by limiting his discussion to Situationist practices between 1957 and 1962, Rasmussen misses moments of real success that only became evident during the May 1968 movement in Paris and that were still under discussion by the remnants of the group as late as 1972.
