| Sumario: | In this article the author discusses international law and empire, specifically the imperial ambitions and actions of the United States. He notes that the United States regularly ignores constraints on its world power imposed by the World Court and the United Nations. The justification for such actions lies in American abrogation of domestic and international law in the name of national security. It is noted that this was particularly true during the presidency of George W. Bush and his prosecution of the "war on terror." |
