Sumario:This article presents an interview with Aishah Shahidah, the director of the 2006 documentary "NO!," and Theryn Kigvamasud'Vashti, the former co-director of Communities Against Rape and Abuse (CARA) in Seattle, Washington. Topics include use of community-based accountability to combat sexual violence against African American women, the importance of generational awareness, and ways the film changed international perceptions of African American women rape survivors.
