Topics include the political rhetoric surrounding the debate on punishment and crime; the economic cost of prison expansions and higher minimum sentencing requirements; and the author's reflection on his anti-prison expansion political campaign and use of the "treasury card" tactic which emphasizes the economic costs of prison expansion and subsequent cuts to public services.
