Summary:The present article describes the result of the qualitative paragraph of two researches on conflict, crime and safety in the city of Lérida (central Catalonia), from a discursive-cultural perspective. It joins this way the content of the fears of the inhabitants of the city and penetrates into the intergenerational aspects, those that do of the young men a fearsome "other one" in his/her own territory, contributing some elements for the comprehension of the retractive-repressive conducts of the adults, and those of reaction of the young men.
