To date, very little research has been conducted on the characteristics of stolen-goods markets or the patterns of disposing of goods post-theft. This study examines the ways in which goods stolen through shoplifting and burglary are disposed of. Data from 50 in-depth, qualitative interviews with prolific burglars show what goods are stolen via burglary and shoplifting.
