Genaue Ergebnisse über die quantitative Entwicklung sind allerdings in unverzerrter Form kaum zu ermitteln, auch die empirische Sozialforschung stößt hier schnell an ihre Grenzen. Um das Problem emstzunehmen, reicht es jedoch aus zu wissen, daß die Gewalt in Schulen angestiegen ist - auch wenn dies nicht so stark erfolgte, wie es in vielen Medien dargestellt wird. Weitere Ressourcen sollten fiir die Erforschung der Bedingungen und Motive der Gewalt genutzt werden, die von Schülem/innen ausgeübt wird. Erste Ergebnisse einer qualitativen Studie, die hier abschließend vorgestellt wird, besagen, daß geplante Gewalthandlungen Jugendlicher eher außerhalb der Schulen ausgeübt werden. Bei Gewalt in Schulen handelt es sich dagegen häufig um vorrangig affektiv bedingte Reaktionen. Daß Jugendliche Waffen einsetzen, wird schließlich weniger als Überlegenheit, sondern eher als Schwäche erlebt. | ||
| 520 | |a Violence committed by adolescents in schools has frequently been dramatized by the media over the last years. Particularly the data of the German Police Statistics (Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik) about the quantitative development of violence in schools have been interpreted in an inadmissible way. However, it is hardly possible to discover valid results about this process; concentrating on this pro- blem even leads to the limits of empirical social research very quickly. But realizing that violence in schools has increased is sufficient reason to be serious about the problem - even if its quantitative development is not as dramatic as frequently reported. Fürther resources should be used for research in the conditions of and motives for violence in schools. The last chapter of the text in hand presents the first results of a qualitative study. They show that most of the violent actions which are planned by pupils take place outside school. On the contrary, violent acts commited in schools are often reactions which are mainly conditioned by emotions. The use of weapons by adolescents is rarely estimated as dominance but more as a weakness. | ||
