678 |b "grew up in Cambridge, England. He went to the University of Manchester as an undergraduate where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in geochemistry. He returned to Cambridge as a Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge, Churchill College, working in the Department of Earth Science on the formation and stability of dolomite. After his Ph.D., Ian moved to the U.S. where he spent six years teaching, coaching and dorm-parenting at Brooks School in North Andover, MA. At St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Ian teaches Chemistry and Robotics, as well as coaches boy’s JV soccer. Ian's works for the CTTL [Center for Transformative Teachin and Learning at St. Andrew's Episcopal School] focuses on the development of research projects that measure the effectiveness of brain based strategies used by St. Andrew's teachers and students. Ian also co-facilitates the CTTL”s “Creating Innovators through Design Thinking” workshop and is responsible for the CTTL graduate level programming."
