678 | |b Before joining the VCH Essex Herbert worked as a Research Assistant in Germany in projects on the history of money (1250-1750), the history of witchcraft (1550-1700), and the history of international trade fairs (1250-1550). He has published a range of articles in these fields and edited two volumes of international conferences on witch trials. From 2012 to 2014, Herbert was a Research Assistant in the AHRC-DFG funded project 'Pauper Letters and Petitions for Poor Relief in Germany and Great Britain, 1770–1914'. He also taught medieval history at the University of Trier, and undertook postgraduate teaching at the University of Essex and the IHR. | ||
