In 1974, he joined Pakistan's Atomic Energy Commission to establish peaceful uses of atomic energy in medicine. As head of the Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine, he dealt medically with displaced persons from Afghanistan. As Honorary Chairman of the Red Crescent/Red Cross society, he was involved in humanitarian work with persons who have been displaced due to "man-made" and natural disasters in northwest Pakistan. After retirement, Dr. Khan joined a private medical care facility where the majority of the patients come from Afghanistan. | ||
